In my last entry I wrote about how hard it was raining. Well, it turned to sleet and then we got some snow on Tuesday night. Not a lot but it was cold, too. Dennis left on Wednesday morning for a regional meet in Waco, TX. Two other guys rode with him. It continued to snow during the day on Wednesday but it wasn't really sticking any more at that point. I stayed home because the snow tires aren't on my car yet and I was concerned about getting back up our hill if it got worse. By Thursday night, it was mostly melted and the weather turned nice again.
On Friday I had lunch with a gal whose husband had gone with Dennis to the car event. On Saturday I went to a craft show at one of the closer high schools and then went to the big library book sale for Jeff Co. Library at the county fairgrounds. Back Home.....Again
We got down to New Mexico on Friday around 4 o'clock or so. After getting to our friends' house we went over to another couple's house for appetizers and a drink and then we all went to dinner. They had been on the train ride the previous week. They have two male Yorkies, Pete and Ernie. Cute as can be but a bit overweight. The guy, Art is building a train room in a special building outside. Not really a garage but about that size, but a separate building. He has the background walls painted with sky, clouds, trees and other scenery. Pretty neat. Our friend Dan is doing the same thing but his is not quite as far along. Both rooms will be modeled after certain routes of the old railroad.
On Saturday we went to the NM Chapter meet. Dennis helped judge and I helped tabulate. They got finished around 1 o'clock (only four cars to judge)after which some of us went to lunch. ... (more)
New Mexico Bound
Leaving today for New Mexico. Plan to be back on Sunday. Looks like pretty nice weather in the forecast, for here and for there. Will be traveling some of the same route we took last week. Driving the truck this time as he has some parts to take down. More after we return.Home Again and Brrr!

I don't know what happened yesterday, as I had quite a bit written. I hit the Preview and then when I tried to get back to it I lost all of it. At that point I was too tired to write again.Last week we had a retirement part to go to on Wednesday for a guy that used to be in our Corvette club. He was retiring from the Aurora Police Department after 35 years. went to his precinct first and then there was food and drinks at a nearby bar & grill.
Thursday night we had our "in home" Bible study. A couple of times during each year's sessions we do this and instead of meeting at church, all the small groups meet in someone's home and share a meal. This week it will be back at church, as usual.
Saturday morning I had Altar Guild set-up and then in the afternoon baked a couple of pies--one to take to church on Sunday and one for us--both pumpkin. Sure made the house smell good. All we needed was a turkey cooking, too. ... (more)
