In my last entry I wrote about how hard it was raining. Well, it turned to sleet and then we got some snow on Tuesday night. Not a lot but it was cold, too. Dennis left on Wednesday morning for a regional meet in Waco, TX. Two other guys rode with him. It continued to snow during the day on Wednesday but it wasn't really sticking any more at that point. I stayed home because the snow tires aren't on my car yet and I was concerned about getting back up our hill if it got worse. By Thursday night, it was mostly melted and the weather turned nice again.
On Friday I had lunch with a gal whose husband had gone with Dennis to the car event. On Saturday I went to a craft show at one of the closer high schools and then went to the big library book sale for Jeff Co. Library at the county fairgrounds. That is where I always got the large print books for Mom. They are all books that have either been withdrawn from circulation or books that people donate to be sold. I did buy three books, one on quilting, another on needlework/crafts, and one on growing different kinds of herbs. The hard back books are especially cheap--$2.25 is the most expensive.
Sunday I went to church and then worked outside a little bit and then went for a walk. The weather was really nice (crisp but sunny) and is to get even nicer later in the week. Dennis came home with one "doozy" of a cold. He actually was starting to get it when he left but it really got worse. I'm trying hard to not catch it. Well, we go off daylight savings time and the evenings will seem longer. It will be nice, though, to have it light a little earlier in the morning. Guess we can't have it both ways. That's it for now.
Not too much scheduled for this week
one comment:
Yea Can’t wait for regular time. It will gat dark here som much earlier. I hope next year we will be able to go south after Christmas. It seems the older I get the harder it is to take the cold.
