A Week of Indian Summer
It has been another week of beautiful weather. Short sleeves when I went down the hill and some parts of the day even up at our house. It has really spoiled us, I think. When the cold and white stuff does come, it will probably catch us off guard. Not really too much going on this week, just the regular stuff. Not much remains to be done so far as outside work. I don't cut back my perennials much as I like to leave the top part for winter protection. Had a couple of deer inside the fence one morning this week. They nibbled down a couple of my perennials, but it won't hurt them. I use a spray on the plants called Deer Off during the growing season which seems to help (when I remember to spray it on).
On Wednesday I went down to visit a friend who got the new Yorkie puppy. Had been a couple of weeks since I last saw the puppy and she had grown quite a bit but is still pretty small. And how cute her little face has become. I think our friend paid pretty big bucks. Yorkies have become quite expensive since we got ours back in the 80's. And they're kind of high maintenance, too. For now, I'm quite content to just dog-sit once in a while. In fact, we will be watching our other friends' poodle as well as their new dog, a multese-poodle, this week, I think on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. We have never watched the new one so it should be interesting. It's probably good that it will only be a couple days the first time.
We did not get any trick or treaters this year. Glad I only bought the one bag of candy. I think more kids go to the malls and even our two grocery store centers up in Conifer were having trick or treat hours. That beats being driven around in our neighborhood. On Saturday I had Altar Guild set up in the morning and then stopped at a couple places on the way home. Didn't really buy anything except some special shampoo from the beauty supply place. I guess that's it for my exciting week. Sometimes boring and routine is good.
two comments:
Beth went over to our neighboring campers this weekend and petted their dog for a bit. I asked her if she was getting her puppy fix. We miss Scout but not enough to get a dog.

On Sunday, I left Alvin out in the morning and there were 3 deer in the back yard. I was going to try to go back in to get the camera but Alvin decided he didn’t like them in the yard and started to run after them. Of course, they took off into the woods.
