Merry Day After Christmas
Well, I guess I'm playing catch up again. Had a few pre-Christmas activities with friends--a brunch last Saturday and went to some other friends for sort of an open house on Tuesday night. We saw a mountain lion cross the road as we were nearing their house. It was so fast that I wasn't so sure what it was, but Dennis said "oh, a cat" and he didn't mean kitty cat. It was dark (about 5:30 in the evening). It was so quick that you couldn't get that good a look but it was definitely the right color. Had Altar Guild duty on Christmas Eve morning (did the filling of the cups and other prep. work) and then after the last service (7:00) the other lady that I was working with and I put the communion ware on the altar for Christmas Day. After church we stopped over to some church friends' house for a little while. Yesterday we went out for Christmas dinner. Last week a friend e-mailed that if we didn't have plans would we want to meet somewhere between our two homes. It was the same couple who came to our house on Thanksgiving. Sounded like a good plan to me as I didn't want to particularly stay home that day. So she found a place that was open but it really ended being closer to our house. Nice somewhat smaller restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. They had some special items just for Christmas as well as being able to order from the menu. Different for us to go out as I usually cook but it was kind of nice, especially this year. I have found myself missing Mom as well, at various times of the day and different places, so had been feeling somewhat depressed. I kind of get that way in December anyway so that doesn't help, and am always glad when the winter solstice is over and the days start getting longer, even though it won't be noticeable for a while. We've been having pretty good weather, not much snow, although some areas in the mountains are getting big snows. It just doesn't always make it over the Continental Divide. I hope that everyone had a nice Christmas and wish all a happy new year. Will try to update again before next year. Ha!three comments:
I sometimes get tired of cooking Christmas dinner. It never tastes very good to me after all the work. I think it would be nice some year to go out and just relax. I know what you mean about missing Mom. I had some bad times this past week and especially on Christmas day. It’s always harder around the holidays.

You didn’t make it. You said you would try to update again “before next year.” Well, it is next year. Hope you have a Happy New Year.
