Getting Back to Routine

Well, we're a week into the new year already.   We're getting back a little bit into a regular routine now that there is no holiday in the middle of the week.  The weather has been pretty nice, especially for January, but a lot of wind in the last couple of weeks.  Not much snow at all.  Yesterday it was so nice it felt like spring, but today is more seasonal and it is now snowing very lightly.  There was a fire the other day in Boulder County.   It appeared to be more of a large grass fire and the wind really made it spread.  I guess it started from a power line that went down from the very high winds.  A couple of homes were lost but no loss of human life and I think no animals either.  They evacuated a lot of the animals, especially horses, to the county fairgrounds.  I don't think we had quite as much wind as they had up there.   It has been really dry so I guess some snow would be helpful.  I think we are way down for moisture for the year.   We had a little bit on Sunday, but only enough to make the roads slick.  I don't think the forecast calls for much accumulation in the next few days.

Our friend from New Mexico came up yesterday and will stay until Sunday morning.  He and Dennis are out today searching for car parts or something.  Our weeknight Bible study started again last night and our friend went with us.  I was quite surprised as he is not a church person, but am very happy he went along.  Tomorrow night is our NCRS chapter after holiday party.  We've had it in the first part of January for the last few years because there were so many conflicting parties when we used to have it before Christmas.

After holiday party?? Some people will take any excuse to have a party.

Well, it used to be a Christmas party and was held before Christmas, but was never as well attended because people had conflicts, like office parties, etc. So they changed it to January in the hopes that more people would be able to come. I guess a lot of people were partied out ‘cause it wasn’t that well attended last Saturday.
