Springtime in the Rockies
Wow, I read my last entry and did not realize it has been two weeks since I last wrote. I hope that everyone had a nice Easter. We went to services on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and then to the late service in the chapel on Easter as I had Altar Guild clean up after that service. We came home and then went out to eat. It rained most of the day. Beginning of last week was pretty nice and then on Thursday it rained most of the day and then turned to snow in the late afternoon and evening and then kept snowing until sometime Saturday evening. Some guy had told Dennis on about Wednesday that they were predicting around 3 feet for the snowstorm that was coming and we didn't think it would be that much, but it was or close to it. Power went out for a couple of hours on Friday afternoon and then came back on. Then around 5:30 or so it went out again and stayed out until Sunday afternoon. He did not hook up the generator until Saturday morning, as it was not that cold and we just went to bed early. Had cleared the drive once on Friday and it's a good thing, because otherwise it would have been so much harder to do. Then on Saturday we decided to try and get out with the truck, but first he had to clear part of the drive again and clean off the truck. We only did it to get more gas for the generator but then met some friends for a late lunch. Down in town they had mostly rain and it rained a lot. Yesterday we saw sunshine again and we went to the later service because it takes longer to get ready when things aren't like normal. Came home and Dennis finished doing the rest of the drive and I worked on clearing the deck. We were sweating. We finished clearing that about 3:00 and then he turned off the generator to check if the power was back on. Yes! Hooray! I don't think it was classified as a blizzard, because there weren't high winds with it--just a big, wet and heavy spring snowstorm. It is supposed to be in the 70's around mid week, so everything should be melting fairly quickly. This really helped our moisture level, as we were way down for the season. Should green things up nicely. That's it for now.

Wow, I’m glad it’s you getting those snows. We have been having rain the last couple of days and is supposed to rain a couple more and then clear up and warm up. You guys take it easy clearing that snow. Don’t overdo it.
